Tips for Healing

How to begin healing — Heart, Mind, Body, and Soul

  • Reach out – find someone to talk to, you are not the only one, avoid isolation.
  • Take care of yourself – do something that feels normal . . . take a walk, go to the gym, go for a bike ride.
  • Laugh – watch a favorite movie, remember fun things about your children, read an uplifting book.
  • Take a break – get enough sleep, take a long bubble bath with candles, find your own quite place.
  • Take time to mourn the losses you’ve suffered – listen to comforting music, imagine a comforting scene.
  • Share – nurture a loving atmosphere in your home, visit a nursing home, share a happiness with someone else.
  • Realize that wherever you are today is the place to start.
